Summer cell phone photos

There were several pictures on my cell phone taken this summer that I just downloaded to the computer and thought I'd blog them.
The first was taken at the beginning of our drought. I was driving along Billy Graham Pkwy here in Charlotte and I had the most eerie feeling about the storm that was blowing in. The wind was whipping and bringing with it a wall of dirt and dust. You can see the lower cloud above the trees is all debris. Driving into it was like a sheet of dry sand. It was only 5:15pm, but you can see the difference between blue sky and evil cloud. I drive right under the flight path of Charlotte's Douglas Intl. airport, and as this cloud was coming in, so was a plane to land. About a mile out (and 200 ft off the ground), it pulled up and aborted landing. Glad I wasn't on that plane.










This second pic is of Taylor at a minor league baseball game. AF and I took her to see the Charlotte Knights vs somebody who beat us badly. Doesn't look like she cared, does it?










The last two photos are of the pre-season game between the Steelers and Panthers. Pittsburgh won easily, and the seats were GREAT! 50 yrd line, row L, Steelers' side, within yelling distance of the players, and they were FREE! As the crowd thinned out, I kept moving up until just a couple rows from the front row. (That's Ben Roethlisberger in the smaller photo in the center with a white towel over his shoulder.)
