"...to love, honor, and QUACK until QUACK do we part."
This is my first post in over a week, which means I missed posting a "Wordless Wednesday" pic. Oh well, I'll just brief you on last weekend's happenings.
Mandy and I went to a wedding Saturday morning that was a little on the unusual side. We met the couple through church, the groom was a childhood member and has recently come back, about two weeks ago as they were planning to get married this past week. We were invited and I took some photos for them. For a few minutes it was like de ja vu for Mandy and I, being the first wedding we'd attended together since getting married ourselves, as well as being held in the same church. But, bless their hearts, so many awkwardly funny things happened that would've made the average bride cringe, but they were just happy to be together it appeared. Both of the usher's/groomsmen's clothes were more wrinkled than a English Boxer puppy, most of the attendees brought cameras...disposables that had to be wound after each shot...during the silence of the vows of course, they both forgot portions of their vows, the flower girl wore flip flops, after he kissed the bride, he put her veil back down over her face and she left it there as they walked back up the aisle, and finally, they had hash browns and sausage pie at the reception. The one thing that had me, literally, pinching myself to maintain composure was the family member taking pictures with his cell phone that had downloaded a duck sound for each picture taken. He walked right between the couple as THEY ARE SAYING THEIR VOWS and "quack.....quack" he takes two pictures! I promise, I'm not making this up.
The family was nice and the couple wants to start out on the right foot. They are attending services and the church/life group is helping them in a lot of ways. As I said about another couple this morning, "may they have more joy than most".

AMEN! May have they have more joy than most because the story of their relative with the duck call camera phone nearly did me in--I *loved* it!
Wishing them all the best (and so grateful I didn't wear mascara today),
Kristy
