Thanksgiving 2008
A.F. and I spent Thanksgiving with Mom & Dad in Schuyler, VA. Taylor came down the day before for the holdiay too. We enjoyd our family time together with lots and lots of food. Unfortunately, Mom fell ill the night before
and wasn't able to enjoy the fruit of all her and Dad's labor. We came together and finished preparation of a few final dishes...which explains the marshmellows looking like top hats on the sweet potato casserole.

I'll bet it was delicious...so sorry Mom was sick. Here's hoping she was able to recover in time to sample the leftovers!(Those marshmallows are hysterical, btw! I'll bet Taylor cackled like Bobo when she saw those come out of the oven...))
This was our first Thanksgiving in our "new" (1956) house, so we tried some new recipes, looking for some that would become traditional faves in years to come. We had a yummy sweet potato casserole with a coconut & pecan topping that Karen says is a keeper, and a homemade cranberry relish that made the kids gag and wheeze and gasp that it made the house stink. (I vote "keeper" on that, for sure!)
Loved the pic of your sweet wife and Rebel...the picture of contentment after the tryptophan kicked in!
