Weird weekend

This has been an unusual weekend for sure. It started off, for me, with a 3-day fever as a result of a diphtheria/tetanus vaccine. (My doc said I was due.) With all the shaking and sweats, sleep was all but impossible. Thankfully, I found that AF does a great impression of Florence Nightingale, checking my temp every two hours.

Next, we enjoy a progressive music ministry at our church, but the guest band this weekend stepped it up a notch. In addition to drums, bass guitar, lead guitar, and piano, the band included a brass section of 2 trumpets, a trombone, a small sax, and a large sax (that appeared to be a cross between an oboe and an elephant trunk). They sounded like a mixture of Chicago and Earth, Wind, & Fire. Our church often incorporates secular music, keenly using the lyrics to make a spiritual point. I took the video below with my cell phone. (How often does that happen in church?) See if you recognize the song:

Finally, we'd heard there was a chance for snow Sunday night. It's rained constantly since Friday, and tonight at 7pm, a giant lightning bolt struck about a mile from the house. Only 5 minutes later, it was snowing outside! We heard two meteorologists use a new term tonight: "thunder snow". So far, we've got 3 of the predicted 6 inches. We're looking forward to a very late start in the morning.

I hope your weekend was just as fun...minus the fever.

I'm glad that Florence Nightingale took good care of you and that you're feeling better.

Tom is outside, shoveling the sidewalk. I think we probably got close to 6" of snow--enough to cause our office to close and allow me another day at home. We're cooking enchiladas for lunch, and the house smells wonderful! Wish you were here! Love you.

"Did you get him his Dip/Tet? You gotta do that, Hi!"

Glad to know that you're better now. Wouldn't want you hitting the road with Gale and Evelle Snoats with a fever...especially in THUNDER SNOW!
